Norma Dean Davis, age 88, of Hope passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in Prescott, Arkansas. Norma was born on September 1, 1935, in Bonnerdale, Arkansas, to Coleman and Linnie Carpenter Phillips. Norma was a long time member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Langley where she played piano regularly and since moving to Hope a member at Unity Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister, her husband of 67 years, Ray, an infant son, Roger, and a grandson Jared Dearinger.
Norma is survived by a daughter, Sherry Schmitt and husband, George, of Emmet; son Darrell Davis and wife Lisa, of Hope; grandchildren Courtney Davis McNiel of Hope, Jacob Dearinger and wife Jessica, of Hope, Callie Fore and husband, Chris, of Laneburg, Cory Davis and wife, Jordan, of Little Rock, Keri Jackson and husband Chris, of Mena, and Kayla Harmon of Texarkana; great grandchildren, Trulee and Saylor McNiel, Rowan Dearinger, Cole and Claire Fore, Aslynn Jackson, Kelsi Parmer and Kaylee Harmon, and two sisters, Patricia Wacaster and Judy Horton.
She and her husband enjoyed their retirement by traveling across the country with family and friends visiting many state and national parks but they most enjoyed going to see their grands participate in sports and school activities or hosting a family dinner for every birthday, holiday or any occasion. "Mammie" was famous for her fried chicken and green beans.
Visitation will be Friday October 27, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Brazzel Oakcrest Chapel. Funeral service will be Saturday October 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Brazzel Oakcrest Chapel with Bro. Alan Davis and Donnie Davis officiating. Graveside service to follow at 1:00 PM at Langley Hall Cemetery in Langley, Arkansas.
