Obituary

Mrs. Novalene Hogue May Slatton, age 92 of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Monday, February 27, 2017 in Texarkana, Texas. She was born in Waldo, Arkansas on September 16, 1924 to Richard Porter and Bertie Wise Hogue. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Ms. Novalene was an Administrative Assistant at the Hope Chamber of Commerce for over 20 years. She had also worked as a bookkeeper for Martindale Clinic and worked for Citizens National Bank and Hope Feed Company of Hope. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Porter and Bertie Wise Hogue, her two husbands, Arval May and Paul Slatton, her two brothers; Truel and Jim Hogue and her sister; Margaret McFarland.

Survivors include her son; Michael May, and his wife, Lee Ann of Jonesboro, Arkansas; a brother; Richard Hogue, and his wife, Rosetta of Hope; three grandchildren: David, Daniel and Rebecca May; other family members and friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00pm, Thursday, March 2, 2017 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home 1001 South Main Hope, AR.

Funeral service will be 2:00pm Friday, March 3, 2017 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, with Bob Williford officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope.
