Obituary

Mrs. Ola Mae Smith Johnson, the first child of the late Bynam Smith and Martha McGill Smith, was born March 8, 1922 in Blevins, Arkansas. Her brother, Phillip O.D. Smith, proceeded her in death. Mrs. Ola Mae, as she was fondly called, attended school in the Green Hill Community. Mrs. Ola Mae was a member of E.U. Reed Eastern Star Chapter 216 in Blevins, Arkansas. She was married to the late Mr. Lawyer Johnson. Of that union, four children were born. Their second child, L.J. Johnson preceded her in death. Mrs. Ola Mae confessed at an early age, her faith in Christ at Green Hill A.M.E. Church in Prescott. Mrs. Ola Mae passed away on February 25, 2012 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She leaves to mourn her passing, two sons, James Russell Johnson, Sr. (Dana) of Madison, Alabama and Dewey E. Johnson of San Angelo, Texas; one daughter, Delma Johnson of Little Rock, Arkansas; nine grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and a great number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Ola Mae will be 11:00am Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Green Hill A.M.E. Church in Prescott, Arkansas. Burial to follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Prescott, Arkansas. There will a wake from 6-8:00pm Friday, March 2, 2012 at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott.
