Obituary

Mr. Olen Frierson "O. F." Lloyd, 97, of Hope, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2008, at a Hope Hospital. He was born on March 23, 1911, in DeAnn, Ark. to William Frierson and Ola Hendrix Lloyd. He was a retired jeweler, watch repairman and gardener. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church, Hope; an Army Veteran of World War II under General Patton; a charter member of the Hope V.F.W.; member of the 16th Armored Division and attended the reunion; and loved to grow his watermelons, having grown a champion 152 ½ lb one in 1976. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his first wife, Jettie Watkins Lloyd; two brothers, John C. Lloyd and Steve Lloyd; and two sisters, Lois Shirley and Lucy Reardon. HIS SURVIVORS INCLUDE: HIS WIFE: (of 20 years on 9-1-08) Opal Somers Lloyd, Hope, Arkansas. TWO DAUGHTERS: Peggy Lloyd Moudy and John, Hope, Ark. Pat Somers, Galveston, Texas. ONE SON: Ron Somers and Barbara, Lewisville, TX. ONE SISTER: Leta Morrow and James, Hope, Ark. ONE GRANDDAUGHTER: Margaret Frierson Lloyd, New York. And Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Other Relatives and Friends. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 4, 2008, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel, Hope, Arkansas, with Rev. Glen Tropp officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hope, Arkansas. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Arkansas. FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS: Wednesday, September 3, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Ark.
