Obituary

Mrs. Oma Lee Thornton, age 80 of Hope, Arkansas passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015. Mrs. Thornton was born April 9, 1935 in Emmet, Arkansas to Carl and Etta Samuel O' Steen. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was truly one the best cooks in Hope that never let anybody go hungry in her house and to all that she cooked for. Mrs. Thornton is preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl Thornton of 59 years, three brothers; Reece, Eugene and Darrell O' Steen and one sister; Gladine Langley.

Survivors include; two daughters; Donna Stowell and husband Mel of Minden, Louisiana and Sue Atchley and husband Steve of Hope, Arkansas three sisters; Vaund Hart, Bonnie Cole and Myrtle Whitten all of Irving, Texas, four grandchildren; Julie Russell and husband Steve of Hope, Arkansas, Leigh Anne Shockley and husband Brett of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Brock McCorkle and wife Kimberly of Texarkana, Arkansas and Jodi Willis and husband Matt of Hope, Arkansas, four great-grandchildren; Brayden Russell, Madison Shockley, Dossyn McCorkle and Rayce Willis. One Special caregiver Charlene Moore.

Visitation is 6:00- 8:00pm Monday, December 21, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home.

Funeral service is 2:00pm Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Brazzel/Oakcrest with Bro. Neil Ridling and Charles Lloyd officiating.Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope, Arkansas.
