Obituary

Mr. Oscar W. "Big O" Jones, 75 of Hope Ark., passed away peacefully Friday, February 27, 2009 at his home in Hope. He was born in Baird, Texas on January 29, 1934, to Oscar W., Sr. and Leila Pauline Schaffrina Jones. He was a 1952 graduate of Spring Hill High School. He was retired from R.K. Hall, formerly known as Marteen-Marieta with 13 years of service and was a former salesman of Stephens Grocer Co. For 20 + years. He was a Baptist; an Army Veteran, member of the 3rd Armored Division; and a man who was dedicated to his work and loyal to his friends and his neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents and his maternal grandmother who then raised him, Musa Dora Raschke; and one step-brother, George Raschke. HIS SURVIVORS INCLUDE: One Son: Steven Jones and Stacey, Hot Springs, Ark. One Sister-In-Law: Nora Raschke, Texarkana, TX. And Several Nieces and Nephews. GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2009, Memory Gardens Cemetery, Hope, Arkansas, with Rev. Joe Miller officiating. Burial to follow. Arrangements by BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Ark. FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS: Monday, March 2, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Arkansas.
