Mr. Paul Slatton age 89, of Hope, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Mr. Slatton was born March 2, 1925 in Pisgah, Arkansas to Roy Hugo and Annie Blakely Slatton. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hope, a US Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines. Paul was a self-employed contractor for 50 years. He was initiated into the Mason's on February 18, 1985 and was raised to Master Mason on October 14, 1985 at Pisgah Lodge 250 and has been a member of the Whitfield Lodge #239 since April 1994. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Emogean Slatton, a brother; Houston Slatton and two sisters; Lorene Scarcellato and Edith Slatton. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Novalene H. Slatton of Hope, son; Thomas Wayne Slatton of Pine Bluff, two daughters; Cherrie Boston of Woodlands, Texas and Trudie Slatton of Hope, two brothers; Gene Slatton of Bellaire, Texas and Harry Slatton of Houston, Texas, two sisters; Margie Bachelor of Houston, Texas and Joan Virtell of Carmine, Texas; four grandchildren; Elizabeth Slatton, Grant Slatton, Jana Boston and Jamie Boston, other family member and friends.
