Mrs. Phyllis L. Nelson, of Casa, Arkansas, (Formerly of Prescott, Arkansas,) passed away Friday, July 10, 2009 at Baptist Health Medical Center, Little Rock, Arkansas. The daughter of Larmon and Gracie Fuller VanWinkle, she was born December 22, 1946 in Little Rock. She was a graduate of McClellan High School. Phyllis and Jimmy Clifton Nelson were married on January 6, 1967 in Benton, Arkansas. She was a member of the Casa Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School Classes for many years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Calvin VanWinkle. She is survived by: Her husband: (of 42 years,) Jimmy Nelson, Casa; Three children: Pam Tipton and husband Mike, Casa; Peggy Williams and husband Johnny, Fouke; Jay Nelson and wife, Heather, Berryville; Grandchildren: Kyle Williams and wife Whitney, Little Rock; Danielle Tippit, Russellville; Trevor Williams, Fouke; RJ Tipton, Casa; Arik Williams, Fouke; Lynsey Tipton, Casa; Julia Nelson, Berryville; a sister, Dottie Freeman and husband Gene, California; two brothers, Larmon VanWinkle, Little Rock; Leslie VanWinkle and wife Linda, Little Rock; many nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2009,at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bluff City, Ark., with Mr. Leslie VanWinkle officiating. Burial to follow.
