NAME: MR. LONNIE RAY NORMAN, 74, of Crossroads Community of Washington, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2007, at Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas. He was born on January 1, 1933, in Washington, Ark., to Gus Diamond and Jennie Lou Womble Norman. He was a self-employed carpenter and He was an Army Veteran. He loved his family; deer, turkey and duck hunting; riding his four-wheeler and working in his flower beds and his garden. He was preceded in death by his parents; by one brother, R.B. Norman; by one sister, Kathleen Woolsey; and one great-grandson, J.J. Applegate. HIS SURVIVORS INCLUDE: HIS WIFE: (of 51 years) Mattie Adams Norman, Washington, Ark. TWO SONS: Virgil Norman and Becky, Washington, Ark. Victor Pete Norman and Anita, Washington, Ark. ONE DAUGHTER: Velinda Applegate and Shortie, Washington, Ark. TWO SISTERS: Lorine Morris, Hitchcock, TX. Pauline Polly Vanriper, Columbus, Ark. ELEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Keisah Morse, Heather Norman, Adam Applegate, Kayla Norman, Vanessa Norman, Katlan Applegate, Danielle Norman, Zach Norman, Zowie Norman, Casey Burnside and Michaela Burnside. FOUR GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Hunter Morse, T.D. Simmons, Dylan Smith, Marlie Rader FUNERAL SERVICES will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2007, Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel, Hope, Ark., with Rev. Don Jones and Rev. William Tyler officiating. Burial to follow in Westmoreland Cemetery, Washington, Ark. Arrangements by BRAZZEL/OAKCREST Funeral Home, Hope, Arkansas. FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS: Tuesday, June 19, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Arkansas.
