Mrs. Rena Mae Horton Hollis, age 97, of Patmos, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Mrs. Hollis was born, Saturday, September 30, 1916, in McNeil, Arkansas to Ben Rush and Lula Laha Horton. Mrs. Hollis was a member of the Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in Patmos. She was a homemaker, and took pride in her homes appearance and in the meals she prepared for her family. She was married to Horace T. Hollis, and at his death they were one month short of celebrating their 72nd wedding anniversary. Mrs. Hollis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother; Rodrick Horton. Those left behind to cherish Mrs. Holliss memory; two daughters; Patsy Blackwood of Mansfield, Arkansas, Linda Williamson and Melford of Knoxville, Georgia, brother; Winfrey Horton of Palacios, Texas, eight grandchildren; Mark Blackwood, wife Elizabeth of Pine Bluff, Gloria Nale, husband, Tom of Barnesville, Georgia, Becky Hook, husband, Bill of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Terry Dingler, husband, Art of Hawkinsville, Georgia and Angie Hebert, husband, Bryon of Mansfield, Arkansas, twelve great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren, other family members and friends. Visitation for Mrs. Hollis will be 6:00 to 8:00pm, Tuesday, October 22, at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope. Funeral service will be 2:00pm, Wednesday, October 23, at the Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel. Rev. Bruce Porter will officiate the service. Burial to follow in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Patmos, Arkansas.
