Obituary

Mr. Richard P. Hogue Jr., age 88 of Hope, Arkansas passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019 in Tyler, Texas. He was born April 11, 1931 in Stamps, Arkansas to Richard Porter and Bertie Wise Hogue Sr. Richard was a former co-owner of Hogue's Exxon for 5o years receiving many awards from Exxon Mobile Corporation and served in the Arkansas National Guard. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hope and Hope Lions Club. He received the 2019 Edwin Dalstrom Distinguished Service Award in Hope Lions Club along with perfect attendance. He was also 2012 Hope Hempstead County Citizen of the year. Mr. Richard's civic and community minded ideas were present in his dedication to his community and others abound; that included Hope for Joplin in Joplin, Missouri, Renewal Ranch in Conway, Arkansas, and We Are Free Center for Battered Women in Emmet.

His passion and enjoyment was spending time racing horses with his wife and family. Richard was also an avid Razorback Fan, and loved hunting and fishing. He was well known for his dedication to hard work and helping anyone in their time of need. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Ricky Hogue, two brothers, Truel Hogue and Jim Hogue, and two sisters, Margaret McFarland and Novalene Hogue May Slatton.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Rosetta Hogue, a daughter, Susan Fackler husband T.J., six grandchildren, Laura Hunter, Sabrina Griffin, Teresa Butler, Michael Hogue, Matthew Hogue, Tim Fackler, eight great grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Saturday, August 3, 2019 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest 1001 South Main St. Hope, Arkansas 71801.

Funeral service will be 2:00pm, Sunday, August 4, 2019 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest with Bro. Bob Williford and Bro. Mark Fisher officiating. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens with Bro.
