Mr. Roger Levon Neal, age 84, of Smyrna, Tennessee, formerly of Hope, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 in Smyrna, Tennessee. Mr. Neal was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and a 1950, graduate of Hope High School in Hope, Arkansas. He was retired with the United States Air Force having fought I both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Mr. Neal later went to work for the Smyrna Post Office as a carrier. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a great friend to many. Mr. Neal was preceded in death by his parents, John Brantley and Ida V. Brown Neal, sister, Blanche Inez Neal Malone and brother, Charles Brantley Neal. Mr. Neal is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Virginia Byrd Neal, sons, Roger Steven Neal and Mark Brantley Neal both of Murfreesboro,Tennessee brothers, James Leon Neal of Hope, Arkansas and Donald Ray Neal of Shreveport, Louisiana, sister, Alice Phanae Neal Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas, grandchildren, Christopher Shawn Neal and John Robert Neal both of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Parkway Baptist Church, 1715 Lee Victory Parkway, Smyrna, Tennessee, 37167. Visitation for Mr. Neal will be 9:00 to 10:45am, Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Woodfin Chapel Funeral Home in Smyrna, Tennessee. Graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Mapleview Cemetery with Bro. Dan Parker officiating.
