Mr. Roy Walter Garner, age 67, of Blanchard, Louisiana, (formerly of Hope, Arkansas), passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born February 25, 1944, to Howard and Ella Ree McDowell Garner. Roy who was also known as the Mayor of Millwood had a love for fishing, hunting, driving his GTO, watching over his Martins and playing every morning with his faithful companion, Precious. He was preceded in death by his parents. He will be greatly missed by the love of his life, family, best friend Jim and many other friends. His Survivors Include: His wife (of 46 years), Shirlie Pratt Garner, Blanchard, Louisiana. Two Daughters: Brenda Roy, Newark, Texas and Bonnie Green, Callahan, Florida. Four Brothers: Larry M. Garner and Gayle, Hope, Arkansas; Bro. Lane Garner and Corinne, Bodcaw, Arkansas; Ronnie Garner and Annette, Bryant, Arkansas and Montie Garner and Donna, Hope, Arkansas. Two Sisters: Marsha Cochran and Don, Mayflower, Arkansas and Shelia Griffin and Bill, Fulton, Arkansas. Six Grandchildren: Kesia M. Colvin, James R. Wilcox, Heather G. Thomas, Amber N. Green, Chad A. Green, Samantha L. Green. Five Great-Grandchildren: Aaron Thomas, Alyssa Thomas, Jacob Wilcox, Jasmine Wilcox and David Colvin. And other relatives and friends. Graveside Services will be 2:00pm, Friday, March 4, 2011, at Huckabee Cemetery, Spring Hill, Arkansas, with Rev. Andy Hawkins officiating.
