Roy Chester Hopson was born on October 1, 1956, in Prescott, Arkansas. He was the 6th child born to Will Dan Hopson and Marie Charles Hopson. He united with the Mt. Ephesus Church at an early age. He attended and graduated from Prescott High School and gained employment with the City of Prescott where he worked for many years. It was during this time that he married Genine Tidwell. He later relocated to Wichita Kansas where he met and married Clinetta Bobo and gained 3 bonus children. Tasha, Jasmine and Jordon. Jordon preceded him in death; Roy was employed at Cessna Aircraft Company for 20 years before returning to Prescott. He was also a member of Community of Faith Ministries under Dr. Gerald Scott.  Roy is preceded in death by his parents and 4 siblings. Dan Hopson Jr., Josephine Hopson Henderson, Ada Hopson Graham and Joe Lee Hopson. Cherishing his memories are 2 brothers, Harold Hopson of Hope, Arkansas and Wallace Hopson of Little Rock, Arkansas. 2 sisters; Carolyn (George) Hawthorne of Alexander, Arkansas and Minister Dr. Janice (Herman) Haynes of Prescott, Arkansas. He was loved by his many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Mount Ephesus Baptist Church in Prescott, Arkansas.

Full service will follow immediately after at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Gerald Scott officiating.
