Mr. Royce Gene Townsend, age 71, of Spring Hill, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2011. He was born in Hempstead County, Arkansas, on August 29, 1939, to Granvel and Rosie Lee Ponder Townsend. He was a truck driver, a veteran of the army and member of the Central Church of Christ in Hope, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Authur Dale Townsend and Granvel P. Townsend, Jr., one sister, Venie Mae Biggers, and one brother-in-law, Bobby Marsh. His Survivors Include: One Daughter and Seven Step-Children. Three Brothers: James Townsend and Charlotte, Allen, Texas; Terrell Townsend and Betty, Spring Hill, Arkansas, and Dennis Townsend and Sharon, Hope, Arkansas. Two Sisters: Barbara Marsh, Houston, Texas and Mary Nell Mathis and Richard, Maud, Texas. One Sister-In-Law: Naomi Townsend, Duncanville, Texas. One Brother-In-Law: Bill Biggers, North Richland Hills, Texas. Seventeen Grandchildren, Nine Great-Grandchildren, Fifteen Nieces and Nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2011, at Central Church of Christ, Hope, Arkansas, with Bro. Harold Freeman officiating.
