Mrs. Sarah Katherine Nixon Johnson, 57 of Prescott, Arkansas passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 9, 2010. She was born January 26, 1953 to the late Leon and Hazel Lee Simpson Nixon in Prescott, Nevada County, Arkansas. She received her formal education at McRae Elementary School and graduated from Prescott High School in 1972. She was employed at Brentwood Industries, Hope, Arkansas. Sarah married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Johnson Jr. To this union a daughter was born, Charlotte Denise Johnson Callahan. Sarah was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed traveling, cooking, shopping gardening, eating out, meeting people, and singing in her church choir. Sarah accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was a member of the Church of God where she served as a church mother, treasurer, secretary, and choir member. She was a willing and devoted worker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Arlinda Gulley, and brothers James and Thomas Leroy Nixon. Sarah leaves to mourn her death: husband, Thomas, daughters Charlotte (Billy) Callahan, LaShonda Scott. god daughter Sharon Clark, and six grandchildren. The grandchildren are James and Jamia Colbert, Jahiem Callahan, Derrick, Derrian and DeTaven Thompson of Prescott. She also leaves sisters Mary Railey of Prescott; Lucy Nixon of Vallejo, California; Wilma McNeil of Atlanta, Georgia; Brenda (James) Sloan of San Diego, California; Iris Carter of San Diego, Lyncola Nixon of Prescott, and Norma (Thomas) Nixon of El Centro, California. Those cherishing her memory also include her brothers: Donald (Willie Mae) Nixon of Prescott; Leon (Corrita) Nixon of Fayetteville, Georgia, and John C. Nixon of Prescott. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also mourn. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Church of God Church, Prescott, Arkansas with Rev.
