Mr. Sonny Tibbs, 77 of Gurdon, Arkansas passed away, Wednesday June 20, 2012 at his home in Gurdon. He was born August 1, 1934 in Bristoe, Oklahoma to Albert Sidney Tibbs and Lula Williams. He was a retired self employed trucker and also worked for the Port Arthur Gulf Oil Company for 23 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gurdon. He was a avid hunter, that loved to spend time with his family and was a truck driver for 60 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters and one son Richard "Dick" Tibbs. He is survived by his wife, of 60 years Snooks Stauffer Tibbs, of Gurdon, Arkansas, a daughter; Vickie Anderson and husband, Willie of Grove, Oklahoma, a sister; Barbara Sue Tibbs, of Arlington, Texas, two grandchildren; Robert Garland and Trent Tibbs. Visitation 6:00 to 8:00pm, Friday, June 22, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Gurdon. Funeral services 10:00am, Saturday June 23, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Gurdon. Bro. Mark Crawley will officiate the service. Burial to follow in Decipher Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott.
