MRS. STELLA MAE COONROD ATKINS, 95 (almost 96) of Joshua, Texas, (formerly of Hope, Arkansas) passed away, Friday, April 30, 2010, in Burleson, Texas. She was born May 4, 1914, in Dallas County, Texas, to Abner, Sr. and Minnie P. Smith Coonrod. Mrs. Atkins was a retired beautician, homemaker, mother and member of Bethany Baptist Church of Spring Hill, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Weaver Atkins, who died in November, 2001; one daughter, Carol Ortigo; five brothers, Alan, Cecil, Noble, Bonnie and Abner Coonrod, Jr.; and one sister; Geneva Breedlove. HER SURVIVORS INCLUDE: Three Daughters: Marilyn Waldrop, Grapevine, Texas. Mary Little, Joshua, Texas. Minnie Shaffer, Patmos, Arkansas. And Ten Grandchildren, Fifteen Great-Grandchildren, Two Great-Great- Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. FUNERAL SERVICE will be 2:00 p. m., Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel, Hope, Arkansas, with Rev. Kenneth Bobo officiating. Burial to follow in Holly Springs Cemetery, Spring Hill, Arkansas. Arrangements by BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home Hope, Arkansas. FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS: Saturday, May 1, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home, Hope, Arkansas.
