Obituary

Ms. Tomye E. Power, age 69 of Hope, passed away, Monday, April 13, 2015 at Laurel Place in Hope. Ms. Power was born September 2, 1945, in Nashville, Arkansas to Prentice Carlton and Charlene Harrison Power. Ms. Power is of the Christian Faith. She graduated with her master's degree in History and she spent many years as Head of the History Department at Hope High School. Ms. Power is preceded in death by her parents, and one nephew, Joseph Clark. Survivors include; one brother, Dr. Robert C. Power, wife, Arleta, of Little Rock, Arkansas, two sisters, Helen Clark and Katie Louise Harrison, both of Hope, Arkansas, three nieces; Enola Stout of Hope, Arkansas, Mary Harrison of Hope, Arkansas, Renee Power of Orlando, Florida, one nephew, Kelly Power of Plano, Texas, one special great-niece, Lea Stout of Hope, Arkansas, one special friend, Sue Duckett Smith of Hope, Arkansas, special caregiver, Charlotte Mulholland of Hope, Arkansas, and numerous other family and friends. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, can be made to Hempstead County Library, 500 S Elm Street, Hope, Arkansas 71801. There will be no formal visitation. Graveside service will be 2:00pm, Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Memory Gardens in Hope, Arkansas, with Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating.
