Mrs. Verna Boehmer Jines Langford, 97 of Little Rock formerly of Hope, left this world peacefully to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Born November 29, 1910 in Southaven, Kansas to Walter Boehmer and Emma Beckman Boehmer. In 1916 her family move to Rondo Community by riding the train from Kansas to Texarkana with all their farm equipment and animals in one boxcar. After graduating high school in Texarkana, she attended Arkansas State Teacher College (now UCA) during the Great Depression and then began teaching in the North Heights School District. She taught at North Heights and Mandeville before moving to Hope in 1950. She taught first grade at Garland School until her retirement in 1972. She cherished all her fond memories of all the students she touched and dearly loved them all. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hope and member of the Eastern Star. Verna was preceded in death by two husbands, Eugene Jines and Othell Langford. She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Dr. Gene Jines and wife, Debbie of Little Rock; two grandsons, Walt Jines and wife, Aunna and Lee Jines and a granddaughter, Ashley, all of Little Rock; three stepchildren, Elaine Reynolds of Malvern, Brenda Miller of Bryant and Clifford Langford of Fayetteville, a sister Lucy Young and her son, Danny Roberts of Texarkana, along with many other cousins, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Her life's memories will be celebrated on the date of her 98th birthday, November 29, with graveside services at 11:00 A.M. in Rondo Cemetery, Texarkana with Rev. Wayne Norveil officiating.
