Mrs. Viola Marie Smith, age 77, of Prescott, Arkansas passed away, Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Wadley Regional Hospital at Hope. She was born May 4, 1935, in Walworth, New York, to Fay and Florence McKee Moon. She was a retired telephone operator and a member of the Prescott Church of Christ for 38 years. Mrs. Smith was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed quilting as her favorite pastime. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild, Michael James Smith. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 58 years, James D. Smith, two sons, Kevin J. Smith and wife Judy of Prescott, Kenneth W. Smith of Prescott, a brother, Howard Moon of Fairport, New York, four grandchildren, Monica Burton, Sherri Cole, Theresa Powell and L. J. Otwell, six great-grandchildren and other family and friends. Visitation will 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, February 21, at Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home of Prescott. Funeral service for Mrs. Smith will be 2:00 pm, Friday, February 22, at the Prescott Church of Christ, Mr. Paul Robinson and Bro. Neal Ridling officiating.
