Obituary

Walter W. Hawley, 81, of Ashdown, formerly of Atlanta, TX, gained his heavenly wings on November 2, 2025. He was born on April 14, 1944, in Chidester, Arkansas, to the late Walter J. Hawley and Edith M. Hawley Morris.

Bill was a devoted servant of the Lord and a faithful deacon at Millwood Baptist Church in Ashdown. He dearly loved his church family and took great joy in worshiping and fellowshipping with them. His strong faith and kind spirit touched many lives.

Bill was retired from International Paper Company in Domino, Texas, where he worked faithfully for many years to support his family.

Bill was an avid crappie fisherman and deer hunter and passed his knowledge and love for the outdoors down to his kids and grandkids. He cherished time spent in nature and treasured every moment fishing, hunting, and creating lifelong memories with his family.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Nina Jo Barksdale; brothers, Dale Hawley and Troy Hawley; and his stepfather, Tommy Morris.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Elaine Adams Hawley; two sons, Terry Hawley and T.J. Hawley and wife Nina Hawley; grandchildren, Josh Hawley, Lance Hawley, Steve Dlabaj, Chad Hawley, Jonathan LaCasse and fiancée Liz Arizmendi, Jay Hawley and wife Megan Hawley, and Ryan Hawley; great-grandchildren, Brantley, Jaxon, Mallory, Eli, Bennett, Sawyer, and Avery; brother, Charles Hawley and wife Virginia Hawley,; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
