Mr. Walter Lee Nichols, 81, of Bodcaw, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at his home. He was born on June 27, 1928, in Bodcaw, Ark., to Myra Pinkney and Lottie Relaford Nichols. He was a former employee of Potlatch, former convenience store employee of both EZ Mart and the Texaco Convenience Store. He was a member of Union Baptist Church in Bodcaw, Ark. and a member of Nevada County Rescue Unit. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nora Lee Rayborn Nichols, who died Jan. 20, 2008; one brother, Buck Nichols; and two sisters, Rose Lee Bustin and Delpha Mae Bailey. HIS SURVIVORS INCLUDE: One Son: Ferralon Nichols and Elizabeth, Hope, Ark. Two Daughters: Joyce Hicks and Tommy, Bodcaw, Ark. Loyce Jones, Bodcaw, Ark. Two Brothers: William Nichols and Barbara, Redfield, Ark. Tilman Nichols and Glenda, Springhill, LA. Two Sisters: Dorothy Huckabee, Springhill, LA. Shirley Lewis and Eloise, Bodcaw, Ark. Four Grandchildren: Russell Glass, Prescott, Ark. Tracy Hicks, Bodcaw, Ark. Keith Jones, Bodcaw, Ark. Pamela Jenkins, Benton, Ark. And Ten Great-Grandchildren, Six Step-Grandchildren, Ten Step-Great-Grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 17, 2010, at Union Baptist Church, Bodcaw, Ark., with Rev. Joe Brown, Rev. Jerry Hightower, and Rev. Lane Garner officiating.
