Wayne Wren Barham of Cale, Arkansas passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 in Texarkana, Texas. Wayne was born March 15, 1937 in Cale, Arkansas to D.W. and Bonnie Barham.
Wayne, who was driving his own logging truck by the age of 13, graduated from Cale High School in 1955 and directly married his bride, Betty Fore Barham, and enlisted in the United States Air Force. During his 20 years in the Air Force Wayne was stationed in such places as Germany, Turkey, Iceland, Montana, and in Texas where he served as a quality control inspector on jet engine repairs. After retiring from active duty, Wayne enjoyed working on his tractor on his farm in Cale, deer hunting, RV and camping across the country, and leading 4-wheeling adventures through the woods he knew like the back of his hand.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents D.W. and Bonnie Barham and sister Sandra Barham Bass.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 67 years Betty Barham; daughter Rita Hunter and husband Gregg of Guthrie, Texas and son Russell Barham and Janet Cunningham of Cale; grandchildren Shane Hudgins and Jesse of Westminster, Colorado, Mallory Canaday and husband Nathan with their children: David, Caleb, and Nora all of Guthrie, Texas, Sarah Barham of Fort Worth, Texas, Daniel Barham of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and sister Belinda Mercer and husband Lee of Hope, Arkansas. And many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held Sunday June 11, 2023 at 2:30PM at Brazzel Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
In lieu of flowers donations made be made to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Cale, AR, of which Wayne was a member for many decades.
