Mr. Weldon E. Alford, 83 of Emmet , Arkansas passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 in a local nursing home. Mr. Alford was born in Laneburg , Arkansas on July 16, 1933 to Walter Louis and Margie Virginia Loe Alford.  He was a retired engineer with Texaco and a retired Lt. Colonel U. S. Army Reserves (Corp Engineers) with 26 years of service. Mr. Alford is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Deloye Ray Alford and William Odell Alford, and two sisters; Betty Dickerson and Venita Westbrook.

Survivors include; a brother; Douglas Alford, wife Elizabeth of Laredo, TX, a sister; Doretha Smith, husband, Michael of Auburn, Alabama, numerous nieces, nephews, as well as many other relatives and his ex-wife, Irma Alford.

There will be no family visitation at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be 2:00pm ; Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Mt Moriah Cemetery, Laneburg , AR with Military Honors and Bro. Charles Purtle will officiate.
