Mr. William McCoy Christie, age 89, of Hope, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, TX.  He was born November 12, 1926 in the Christie's Chapel community in Columbia County, Arkansas to Owen and Mary Lee Mikle Christie. Mr. Christie was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church in Hope, a fourth-degree Knight of Columbus, and a retired manager of the United Dairymen of Arizona cheese production facility.  He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, rising to the rank of First Lieutenant.

Mr. Christie was preceded in death by both his parents and his wife of 56 years, Zula Columbine Rogers Christie.  Mr. Christie is survived by his brother Charles Mikle Christie and wife Melba of Haynesville, LA. He is also survived by his son Alan Christie of Hope, daughters Catherine Cook and husband Jeff of Hope, Michele Fincham and husband David of Clear Creek, TX, and Marilyn Christie of Phoenix, AZ.  He is also survived by nephews Anthony Christie of Haynesville, LA and Gary Christie and wife Kristi of Magnolia, AR. Grandchildren Alece Kibler, Kate Pranger and husband Mark, Faith Brown and husband Donnie, Karalynn Hampton and husband Jacob, Clayton Carr and wife Kristyne.  Great grandchildren Kaleb Kibler, Rayven Kibler, Jaiden Brown, Zachary Brown, William Kelsey, Angelia Kelsey, Leighton Brown, Alan Jacob Hampton, and Paeton Carr.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Rosary for Mr. Christie will be 5:00-6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Brazzel- Oakcrest Funeral Home with visitation to follow.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church in Hope, with Fathers Nirmalraj and Okey officiating.  Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Eddie Brazzel, Director.
