Obituary

Mr. William Robert "Will" Whitten, age 63 of Hope, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 in Rogers, Arkansas. Will was born November 23, 1951 in Hope, Arkansas to Newburn Raleigh and Mary Louise Bowers Whitten. As a kid, Will loved to play baseball. Because he was ambidextrous, he could hit or pitch with either hand, which frustrated his opponents. He got a kick out of that! Will was a Baptist. He enjoyed being a carpenter. One of his favorite hobbies was singing and playing country music. Will was dearly loved by his many nieces and nephews who called him "Uncle Willie". He always gave them a hard time in a fun way and they knew he really enjoyed spending time with them. Will is now in heaven with his parents, Newburn and Mary Whitten, two brothers; Ernest Whitten and Jimmy Whitten, two sisters; Evelyn Whitten and Katherine Chandler, which have preceded him in death. Will had a loving, caring, and giving heart and will be deeply and forever missed by many. Survivors include: one daughter, Tracy Canning and her husband, Jeremy, of Lewisville, Arkansas, one stepdaughter, Brittany Gray of Hope, Arkansas, two brothers; Doyle Whitten of O'Fallon, Missouri, John Whitten of Rogers, Arkansas, three sisters; Dorothy Walthall of Garland, Texas, Betty Sue Hernandez of Nevada, Texas, Mary Jane Jennings of Bossier City, Louisiana, a special friend, Tammy Gaines of Delight, Arkansas, and many nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
