Mr. Stanley Dowings, 19 of Burleson, TX, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at his home in Burleson. Stanley was born September 27, 1989 in Fort Worth, TX to Donald Lester and Lucy Thompson Dowings, he was a graduate of Joshua High School in Joshua, TX, where he played varsity football for three years and moved on to play semi-pro football after high school. Stanley was currently attending college, he enjoyed fishing and hanging out with friends, especially Kelly. He was preceded in death by his father in 2000. Survivors include; his Mother, Lucy Dowings, Burleson, TX; Sister, Holly M. Dowings, Burleson, TX; Aunts, Mary Beard, Hope, AR, Sue Monroe and huband, Gary, Lampassas, TX, Mildred Stallworth, Benton, LA, Margaret Schaeffer, Fouke, AR, Minnie Hart, Wink, TX, and numerous cousins; best friends, Austin Warner, Aaron Warner, Josh Ford; and girlfriend, Kelly Fowler, Joshua. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2009 at First United Methodist Church of Joshua, Texas, vistation 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, Joshua, Texas. Graveside service are 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the New Salem Cemetery in Prescott, AR. Burial to follow. Visitation is 3:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, May 9, prior to the service at New Salem United Methodist Church in Prescott, AR. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott, AR.
