Mrs. Wretha May Lowrey, 94 of Austin, Texas passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011 in Austin, Texas. Mrs. Lowrey was born July 15, 1917 in Bodcaw, Arkansas to John Morgan and Scottie Purtell May. Mrs. Lowrey was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother. Wretha enjoyed spending time with her family, her church, fishing and handcraft. She is survived by her son; Clayton Clay Kennedy and wife, Monica of Austin, Texas, two grandchildren, David Kennedy and wife, Catherine, Katherine Stone and husband, Sherman and 3 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Caitlin Kennedy and Ashley Marcum, and a special niece, Janell Crosslin and husband, Jim of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Lowrey Family wishes to recognize the special care given by the staff of Memory Care Unit of Emeritus at North Austin and Odyssey Hospice and their Case Charge Nurse, Barbara James. Graveside service will be 2:00pm, Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Shover Springs Cemetery in Shover Springs, Arkansas. Burial will follow.
