Mrs. Zula Christie, age 85, of Hope, passed away, Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at her home in Hope. She was born June 2, 1928, in Proctor, North Carolina, to George W. and Iva A. Welch Rogers. Mrs. Christie was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church in Hope and a retired Registered Nurse. Mrs. Christie was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Christie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill Christie of Hope, son, Alan Christie of Hope, daughters, Catherine Cook and husband Jeff of Hope, Michele Christie and partner David Fincham of Houston,Texas, Marilyn Christie of Phoenix, Arizona, sister Joyce Maxwell, of Weldon, Michigan. Grandchildren, Kate Cook, Alece Kibler, Faith Brown and husband Donnie, Karalynn Christie and Fiance Jacob Hampton, and Clayton Carr, great-grandchildren, Kaleb Kibler, Rayven Kibler, Jaden Brown, Zac Brown, William Kelsay, Angelia Kelsay , Paeton Carr. Rosary for Mrs. Christie will be 5:00pm to 6:00pm, Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00pm, Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Funeral Mass will be 2:00pm, Monday, January 20, 2014, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church in Hope, with Father Alphonse officiating.
